The Grand Prize Goes to “Crazy”… Details of the Award-Winning Films at Fajr Film Festival

The 42nd Fajr International Film Festival concluded, revealing the list of winning films. The film “Crazy” won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Film. The work is directed by Mahdi Shahmoradi and produced by the  Iranian Owj Arts and Media Organization, and focuses on the life of the Martyr, General Mehdi Zinedine, one of Iran’s most prominent martyrs in the Iran-Iraq war. . 

The film also won other awards, including the Best Composer Award for Maestro Majid Entezami and the Best Supporting Actor and Actress Awards for Behzad Khalaj and Shabnam Ghorbani.

“Bahrouz Afkhami” won the Best Director Award for his film “The Morning of the Execution”. The film explores the last moments of Tayeb Haj Rezaei and Ismail Rezaei after the 1963 uprising.

“Maral Bani Adam” won the Best Actress Award for her role in the film “Parvin”, which tells the life story of the poet “Parvin Etesami”.

As for the technical awards, “Kouhyar Kalari” won the Best Cinematographer Award, and “Kamyab Amin Ashayri” and “Mehrnoosh Piani” won the Best Production Design and Costume Design Awards.

The film “Parviz Khan” is the winner of the Best First Film Award in the New Expectations section, while Javad Ezzati won the Best Director Award for his film “Blood Alligator”.

In the international section, the film “Blaga’s Lessons” from Bulgaria won the Best Film Award. The festival also honored “Alejandro Rojas” and “Juan Sebastian Vasquez” from Spain with the Best Director Award for their film “Upon Entry”.

In addition to the Italian director “Alessandro Bardani” being awarded the Crystal Simorgh for Best Screenplay for his film “The Best Century of My Life”.

The festival concluded by honoring the film “Mighty Afarin: In Time of Flood” with the Outstanding Artistic Contribution Award, a co-production from Greece and Bangladesh.
