The short film ” I Promise You Paradise” is set to Participate in 8th Zawya Short Film Festival’ s official competition from March 20th to April 7th at the Zawya cinema.The film competes among 31 diverse films ranging from narrative to documentary alongside screenings of previous festival winners to mark the 10th anniversary of Zawya Cinema.

Directed by Murad Mustafa, “I Promise You Paradise” revolves around an African migrant named “Isa,” residing in Egypt at the age of 17, facing numerous crises alongside his companions. He relentlessly seeks solutions due to his sense of responsibility towards them.

Starring Keni Marcelino and Kenzy Mohamed, the screenplay is by Sawsan Youssef and Murad Mustafa. Not only has the film recently won the Special Jury Prize at the 25th Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films.But also, emerged as a strong contender on a global scale, especially, having participated in numerous international film festivals, with over 70 screenings to its credit.

Its notable achievements include being shortlisted for the French César Award and being showcased globally at the Critics’ Week of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival. The film also clinched the prestigious Golden Rail Award.
