Hassan Ben Jelloun” and “Lotfy Labib” top the List of Honorees at the Luxor African film Festival

The Luxor Film Festival’s management revealed details of its thirteenth edition during a press conference, scheduled to take place from February 9 to 15, 2024.

The honored names for this edition were announced, including Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib, Egyptian producer Gabi Khouri, Moroccan director Hassan Ben Jelloun, and actress Aïda Kéïta from Burkina Faso. The festival will also honor artists Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Taysir Fahmi, Emy Samir Ghanem, and Hassan El Raddad. Additionally, the festival pays tribute to the late artist Tarek Abdel Aziz, critics Raouf Tawfik, and Moroccan critic Nour Eddine El Sayil.

The festival’s president, “Sayed Fouad,” explained that the 13th edition will be dedicated to the memory of artist Tarek Abdel Aziz, and it will celebrate the centenary of the late artist Fouad El Mohandes. The festival will also feature an opening song performed by young stars expressing the festival’s theme.
