Cannes Film Festival Reveals The Official Poster for its 63rd Critics’ Week Competition

The Cannes Film Festival has unveiled the official poster for the 63rd edition of the Critics’ Week competition, scheduled to take place from May 14 to 24, 2024.
The design of the poster was inspired by a scene from the film “The Rapture” by director Iris Kaltanback, where the protagonist, Hafsia Herzi, shares a gaze with actress Nina Meurrise.
In last year’s edition of the Critics’ Week competition at the Cannes Film Festival, the horror film “Tiger Stripes” by Malaysian director Amanda Nell Eu was awarded the Grand Prize, while Belgian filmmaker Paloma Sermon Dai received the French Touch Jury Prize for her film “It’s Raining in the House”.
In terms of acting, Jovan Ginic won the Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award for his role in director Vladimir Perisic’s film “Lost Country”.
Among the short films, “Boléro” by director Nans La Borde-Jourdaa won the Leitz Ciné Discovery Award for Best Short Film, as well as the Canal+ Short Film Award.
Regarding distribution, the Gan Foundation Distribution Award went to the French distributor “Pyramide Films” for the film “Inshallah, A Boy” by director Amjad Al-Rashid.
Finally, Iris Kaltenback won the SACD Award for Screenplay Writing for her film “The Rapture”.
