“Visit Palestine” is this year’s focus for the Arab Film Days in Oslo which takes place from 10th to 14th April,2024 ,with a special program that includes solely films revolving around Palestine, its history, identity and challenges.
The opening film,”The Teacher” by Farah Nabulsi, previously famous for the Oscar nominated and BAFTA Winning short film “The Present”, depicts the abuses against Palestinians in the West Bank and emphasizes the consequences of the actions carried out by the Israeli occupying forces on the civilian population.
Palestinian cinema holds particular significance to this edition given the current situation of ongoing war crimes according to Lynda Belkhiria, Co- Head of Programming at Arab Film Days.
The films that will be screened at the festival are:
- “No other Land” by Basel Adra
- “Aida returns” by Carol Mansour
- “Life is beautiful” by Mohamed Jabaly
- “Wedding In Galilee” by Michel Khleifi
- “Dégradé” by Arab and Tarzan Nasser
- “Omar” by Hani Abu Assad
- “Wajib” by AnneMarie Jacir
It’s noteworthy to highlight that Arab Film Days drew an audience of 6,311 attendees last year, featuring a lineup of 24 films.
