Egyptian director Karim Shaaban has announced the selection of his film “I don’t care if the world collapses” to have its world premiere at the Cleveland International Film Festival. The film joins the lineup of films competing in the festival’s official competition in its 48th edition, a cinematic event of great significance in the world of cinema, as it is deemed as one of the festivals qualifying for the Oscars.
Expressing his happiness at this achievement, director Shaaban expressed his pride, through his official Facebook account, in representing Egypt in this global cinematic event, emphasizing the importance of the moment for him as an artist. The film stars a group of Egyptian cinema stars including Salma Abu Deif and Emad Rashad, featuring a meticulous screenplay by Wael Hamdy, reflecting the growing interest in young talents in the Egyptian film industry.
The 48th edition of the Cleveland International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from April 3rd to 13th,2024.
