The Royal Film Commission of Jordan has announced the opening of applications for the 19th edition of the Rawi Screenwriters Lab until May 20, 2024.

The Rawi Screenwriters Lab is an annual workshop spanning five days aimed at developing screenplays for independent Arab screenwriters working on first or second narrative feature film scripts. The lab includes individual mentoring sessions with internationally acclaimed screenwriters from around the world.

The focus of the lab is on developing the individual voice of the writers as storytellers. Advisors and fellow participants engage in in-depth dialogues about the craft of screenwriting and the rewriting process, as well as exchanging individual insights into their stories.

It is worth mentioning that the lab has supported a total of 123 emerging screenwriters over the span of the past 18 editions, with many of its graduates successfully completing their films, which have toured regional and international film festivals, garnering numerous awards.
