« Film Montor Lab » launched its long-awaited workshop to provide opportunities for the unemployed Tunisian youth

Founded by the filmmaker Ismahane Lahmar, The”Film Montor Lab” program kicks off with a workshop on “Introduction to the Costumes Design for Cinema” with the international Costume designer Justine Seymour,who will be sharing with the participants the keys to her success in this field.

This hybrid four-day workshop, which will take place on April 5, 2023, at the headquarters of the prestigious Fashion school ESMOD Tunis, is intended to spread knowledge and skill among unemployed Tunisian fashion designers in the field of cinema.

Justine Seymour, graduated from the prestigious Australian Film and Television School in 2000, won her first award for best costume design for a short film from Critic’s Circle. Since then, she has designed 14 feature films, 27 shorts and two hit series such as Tig Notaro’s “One Mississippi”, “Messiah” and Netflix’s “Unorthodox”, for which she was nominated for an Emmy award and won the German TV award for best costume designer in 2020. Justine was also the costume designer on Apple’s series adaptation of “The Mosquito”.

« Montor Film Lab » is a series of ten workshops designed for cinema lovers and professionals. It focuses on different crafts whose education is lacking in Tunisia .This program aims to bring out the best in local artists, as well as providing training and job opportunities in the film industry through exchanges with qualified mentors and well-reputed practitioners.

This workshop is supported by a grant from Global Media Makers, a partnership between Film Independent and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
